Albuquerque, New Mexico
In Albuquerque, New Mexico, the aging sewer infrastructure has become a primary concern with parts of the concrete pipe structure being more than 50 years old. Over time sections of the structure have deteriorated completely due to severe erosion caused by H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide).
After TLC Plumbing was made aware of this growing problem, a solution had to be found that would not only be the most appropriate and efficient method of rehabilitation, but would also prolong the life of the pipes for at least the next fifty years.
Both TLC Plumbing and Albuquerque City Engineers concluded Warrior Thermoform was the best solution. Thermoform is a PVC-Alloy fold and form pipe liner, and due to its composition it provides a very durable rehabilitation solution. Thermoform is manufactured in a factory-controlled environment, with rigorous material testing to ensure it conforms to expected standards.
Qualified installers were able to install Thermoform into the host pipes and get through areas where it would be too risky to utilise other materials, yet still managing to produce a seamless tight fitting lining that would prevent any inflow or infiltration. Moreover, it is highly chemical resistant meaning the presence of H2S in the ground, that previously caused the severe erosion, would not affect or erode the Thermoform pipe lining.
Not only is Thermoform’s composition environmentally friendly and doesn’t contain any water-soluble chemicals that can pollute the ground surrounding it, the installation process relies solely on steam meaning the process has minimal footprint and doesn’t expose the general public to any harmful vapours.
Since TLC Plumbing and City Engineers approved the installation of Warrior Thermoform, they have continued to install miles of the rehabilitation product in Albuquerque and surrounding municipalities, without disrupting the local land and environment. Warrior Thermoform is restoring pipeline integrity globally and becoming the solution for new and future pipe infrastructure concerns.
